Our Visit Offerings
Morning Session: 9:30-11:30 am (2 hours)
Afternoon Session: 1:00-3:00 pm (2 hours)
Hear from one of our Admissions Counselors to get in-depth information on WC’s academic programs, learn about alumni outcomes, and discover what a Washington College education looks like. Afterwards, get a feel for the WC student experience with one of our George’s Generals during an hour-long walking tour of campus that covers academic buildings, the dining hall, and more!
Each student will be allowed to bring 2 guests with them to attend the information session. Should the information session not be at capacity, additional guests will then be permitted to attend.
Visits will be offered in a small group setting in accordance with state and local government guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Visitor guidelines are available on the registration page, and will be sent to you via e-mail prior to your visit. If you traveled out of the country in the last 30 days, we kindly ask that you refrain from registering.
Semans-Griswold Environmental Hall Tours
Home to the Center for Environment and Society, Semans-Griswold Environmental Hall provides academic and lab spaces for the College’s growing environmental programs. Following your campus tour, join a George’s Generals for a tour of this building on WC’s waterfront campus.
Note: Semans-Griswold Environmental Hall is about a short drive from campus. You will need to provide your own transportation. Parking is available for free on site. Additional details will be provided in your confirmation email.
Semans-Griswold tours are offered daily at 11:45 am and 3:15 pm.
Rose O’Neill Literary House Tours
One of the cultural hubs of the campus, the Rose O’Neill Literary House offers literary programming across disciplines, spaces to study and to hold class, professional mentorship and guidance for students, and training in new and antique printing technologies with the goal of helping students grow as artists and to envision the lives they can have as writers, editors, and publishers, once they graduate from Washington College. Following your campus tour, join a member of the Lit House team for a tour of this space.
Rose O’Neill Literary House tours are offered select Fridays at 11:45 am and 3:15 pm. If you are unable to visit on Friday, or do not see the option to register on your visit form, please leave a note in the comments section and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Following your campus tour, meet one-on-one with Cassandra Hynson, Associate Director for Transfer Admissions. From the application process to learning how credits transfer, Cassandra will be your guide – don’t forget to bring any questions that you already have!
Transfer talks are offered daily at 11:30 am and 3:00 pm.

At your convenience
Head to downtown Chestertown to scope out your future hangouts and learn the history of the place we call home.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are unable to offer on-campus group visits at this time. We are happy to offer virtual group visits until we are able to welcome you to campus again. Virtual group visits are a great way to help bring WC to the comfort of your group’s computer screen.
What you can expect:
Virtual Group Visits are held via the Zoom platform, and will include an Information Session lead by a member of the by Admissions Staff followed by a Virtual Tour featuring 360-degree photographs of campus buildings and locations with a current student. Live question and answer opportunities will be available throughout.
- Virtual group visits are held Monday-Friday at 10:00 EST, and last approximately two hours.
- Virtual group visits are only open to students in grades 10-12.
- Your group will be asked to provide 1 chaperone to assist in monitoring student behavior for every 10 students brought into the meeting.
- Virtual group visits are to be requested at least 10 days in advance to create the best possible experience for your group.
